How did #AVIDchat begin?
The series of AVID Summer Institutes in 2013 were tied together on social networking by one central hashtag: #AVIDSI13. While there had been attempts to connect via social media in prior years, 2013 marked the first where dozens of educators kept the conversation going over the course of the entire series of Summer Institutes. As those face-to-face experiences came to a close, some of those connected educators wondered, “How do we keep this conversation going all year?” and the #AVIDchat hashtag was born.
